The Smart Start Child Abuse Prevention Program protects children from abuse and its long-term damage by actively reaching and educating young children, parents and child care providers.  Just by the simple acts of teaching children how to identify inappropriate touching and how to get help when threatened, the program provides children with a critical stronghold of personal protection.  The program also helps parents learn how to practice healthy discipline and teaches child care professional how to spot and handle potential abuse cases.  For more information, call United Family Services at 704-226-1352.
