Supporting better and better parenting skills in Work First families

Using the research-based Partners for a Healthy Baby curriculum, the Smart Start In-Home Parenting specialist regularly visits qualified Work First families in their homes to address the wide range of issues that come up when raising a young child in challenging times.  Based on the family’s needs, the specialist teaches basic skills such as parenting, child development, budgeting, household management and crisis management.  For more information, call Union County Social Services Department at 704-296-6138.
